Hats Off to Montgomery School Groundbreaking

11 Jan

Chester Springs, Pennsylvania – An enthusiastic crowd of students, faculty, and parents gathered, in spite of the rain, to break ground on a new Library and Academic Center at Montgomery School in Chester Springs. Construction began after students shoveled heaping piles of dirt and tossed their yellow hard hats into the air in celebration of the event. Head of school, Kevin Conklin planned the event to help students connect to the new facility, which is scheduled for completion in June.

The new Library will provide ample space for an expanding collection of books, computers with Internet access, a computer classroom for instruction, and story-time areas for the younger children. The Center will also serve as a hub for middle school students, with new classrooms, lockers, and meeting rooms. Founded in 1915 as a preparatory school for boys, Montgomery School has evolved into a coeducational day school serving preschool through grade eight.

KCBA Architects designed the Library as well as the recently completed Dining Room. The firm is working closely with contractor Gardner/Fox as construction continues.
