MINI Dealership Groundbreaking

MINI of the Main Line Dealership Groundbreaking Rendering

Gardner/Fox just broke ground on a MINI auto dealership renovation on the Main Line. The renovation project has two primary goals, the first being to update the façade of the building and the second to improve the functionality of the service facility. Follow the dealership renovation process online at the project blog site.

The façade work includes completely resurfacing the exterior of the building along Montgomery Avenue with Alucobond panels and an EIFS finishing system, both in a color palette that meets current MINI design standards.

The service facility and parts department will also be completely renovated and reconstructed to meet current MINI facilities requirements. This renovation is extremely complex because the work requires the complete gut renovation of an existing facility that is made up of several additions built over the past 100 years.

The reconstruction includes the installation of a new service floor, in-floor exhaust, lifts, alignment rack, high intensity lighting, ceiling, high speed doors, new oil distribution, a waste oil heating system and a new whole service area air-conditioning system.  The parts department will also be completely gut renovated with the installation of new service counters, high density parts storage and a new automated tire storage rack.

Other work in the facility includes updating the finishes in the showroom, constructing an employee locker room, installing a new wheel chairlift and replacing existing mechanical and electrical systems.

Audi Willow Grove Grand Opening

18 Dec

Willow Grove, Pennsylvania – Don Rosen and Rich Frankel, along with Audi corporate executives, celebrated the grand opening of their newest facility at Audi of Willow Grove. Rosen acknowledged his ten-year relationship with contractor Gardner/Fox and praised their commitment to completing each project on time and within budget.

The two-phase project consisted of dividing an existing 35,000 square foot auto dealership into two separate buildings with individual MEP and sprinkler systems. Interior renovations in phase two included 17,000 square feet of new showroom, service, sales office and customer waiting areas. The exterior facade features a 16-foot glass wall that wraps around the front and side of the showroom area along with an Aluca Bond™ decorative aluminum paneled wall system.

The building separation will facilitate operations between the two auto manufacturers housed within a single dealership. All work was coordinated with Audi corporate representatives in Michigan and California.
